Since then the collection spans fromthe latest year, until the spring catalog, the official start of the legendary Orvis Graphite series. You could try ebay etc. Now that you can spend some money on them, you could also try the original Series They have the same blank, dark brown whippings, the description of the rod engraved on the back side of the reel seat, higher rocs reel seats, cork and a metal tube.

The first year it appeared was in The Orvis Green Mountain Series was introduced as an econonomical alternative to the high end rods. The same high end blanks were used, but with simple fittings, like a black metal reel seat and simpler cork.

The whippings were in black yarn. No green plasic tube in this catalog. There were 4 rods, the 7'9" 5 far and fine, the 8' 6 trout, the 9'western 6 and the all rounder 8'3" 7.
